The project
Open-source multi-component system that helps search and rescue teams locate people and pets under rubble through Wi-Fi CSI micro-movement detection, an acoustic knock sensor and breathing patterns, with GPS logging and a real-time dashboard. It runs offline-first on an isolated local network, with no internet needed. Built in response to the emergency in Cali. It does not replace professional rescue teams.
Architecture
ESP32 nodes capture CSI and report over MQTT, through a portable router, to a local command post running an Aedes broker, encrypted SQLite (SQLCipher) and an Express server with WebSocket, which feeds a mobile field PWA. A scoring engine fuses the signals into a per-zone probability.
